In many companies design finally has a seat at the table, but unfortunately the education of most design leaders didn’t include business, management, conflict resolution, and the other skills essential to succeeding in their position. There’s a steep learning curve as you settle into a leadership position.
To get themselves up to speed some designers pore over leadership and management books, others go as far as visiting top companies seeking guidance from those more experienced. We think there should be an easier way to get up to speed—and that’s why we’ve partnered with Bureau of Digital to create Design Leadership Camp, happening April 24-27, 2017.
“Join InVision and Bureau of Digital for Design Leadership Camp this April in Colorado.”
Design Leadership Camp is an intimate gathering of about 30 design leaders for honest conversations about the toughest problems they face in their work. Discussion topics will be determined by attendees before the event, and Margaret Lee, Director of User Experience Design at Google and mentor to many designers, will help moderate along with Carl Smith and yours truly.
We’re intentionally keeping the event small to ensure the conversations stay productive and attendees can form personal connections that will last far beyond their time together at Design Leadership Camp.
You’ll be in great company
Design leaders from top companies have already signed on to join the conversation at Design Leadership Camp:
- Disney
- Capital One
- Etsy
- MailChimp
- Sequoia Capital
- Accel Ventures
- NBC Universal
- Lyft
This will be an unparalleled learning experience. Seriously.
Solve big problems under a big sky
Tough problems are easier to tackle when everyone is in the right frame of mind. That’s why Design Leadership Camp will be held in Gateway Canyons, Colorado—a stunning, natural setting carved by wind and water over thousands of years. Instead of staying cooped up in conference rooms, we’ll share guidance around a campfire or while hiking in the canyons.
We won’t exactly be roughing it, though. We’ll be staying at the world renowned Gateway Canyons Resort, where you can indulge at the spa, enjoy a ride on horseback or baja buggy, or hang out in their classic car museum. There’s a lot to do here!
This is a great opportunity to recharge your batteries while getting the essential skills you need to level up in your career.
This is an invitation-only event. We’re carefully curating a mix of people with diverse backgrounds and careers to ensure a rich learning experience. We’d love to have you join us!
