We’re putting together a comprehensive survey about the product design career landscape. And we need your help.
Around the world, digital product designers are creating massive value for their organizations, across every metric from product usability to revenue to time to market. (We know, because we asked them).
“Around the world, digital product designers are creating massive value for their organizations, across every metric from product usability to revenue to time to market.”
Companies in every conceivable industry are investing in their design practices, which has caused the job market for product designers to grow exponentially in recent years. In fact, according to recent data from LinkedIn, UX design is number five on the list of hard skills that companies need most in 2019.
Five!
And yet, we often hear a lot of confusion when it comes to the job landscape from designers and hiring managers.
- What’s the best way to break into the field?
- What does the salary landscape look like?
- What job titles are seeing the most demand?
- Should I become more or less specialized?
- How do I attract the best talent to my team, especially if I work at a company that isn’t particularly well known for its design practice?
- What should I highlight about my company or design org when reaching out to candidates on LinkedIn?
To answer these questions and more, we’re undertaking the first large-scale survey of product design practitioners and leaders to uncover the insights that will help our community (take it here!)—whether you want to find a job, build your team or break into the industry. The full report based on this data will be released later this spring.
The more people who participate in our survey, the more comprehensive our study and the insights included will be. This is why we’re asking for just a few moments of your time to share your experience.
We’re looking specifically for respondents in the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, Singapore, and the United Kingdom, who are either currently working as designers, or who are in charge of hiring designers. As a thank you, all eligible respondents who take the survey before April 14, 2019 will be entered into a drawing for a $250 Amazon gift card.
