Today is National Voter Registration Day! In light of this, we’re calling on Inside Design readers to join us by registering to vote and spreading the word on the importance of voter registration.
Read a letter from InVision CEO Clark Valberg below:
We often hear ‘voting is your civic duty.’ But it’s so much more than that—it’s the very heartbeat of a thriving, representative democracy.
As a community of diverse voices who are creative, passionate, and conscious, we need to make our needs known and be an active participant in shaping the future we want to see.
“Shaping the Future” embodies more than just the act of voting. It is getting involved in change that will create a future that embodies acceptance, empathy, diversity, safety, and humanity.
To help us share this message and empower people around the world to do the same, we asked 10 talented designers across the United States to design our future in the illustration shown above. We’re also opening up this opportunity to anyone, globally, who wants to participate in shaping what they think the future should look like through illustration.
There is nothing more powerful, nor as impactful to the human spirit, than to be truly seen and heard by one’s community and the broader world around them.
InVision is also proud to align with Civic Alliance, a non-partisan organization focused on supporting safe and trusted elections in the United States. Our U.S.-based employees are rallying together to both register to vote and volunteer as poll workers in their communities.
The 2020 election is a unique inflection point in America’s history, but it is not the only election happening this year. Elections are taking place in countries around the world. Our hope is that everyone will make their voices heard wherever they call home.
Great design is inclusive and accessible—it does not stand for some, but for all. No matter who you support or what you believe, your vote plays a pivotal role in shaping our collective future.
Thank you,
Clark
